Reading, testing and writing

Yesterday I was lucky enough to present to a group of senior managers in North Wales on the subject of moving ideas forwards and I commented on the poor level of undergraduate student writing. I also said that I did not consider it their fault but felt that they had not been prepared for this stage of their education and that certainly A level did not do it.

Today I picked up an article in the Telegraph saying very similar things …

And again today there is a wonderful letter/article in the Guardian from Michael Rosen, obviously still in good form, must have too much time on his hands … Michael has much to say to Mr Gove about the politics of education.

It is important not to let go of these things … it is too easy to argue that nothing can be done … of course things can be done listen to¬† Sugata Mitra and Kiran Bir Sethi
